...nt of professional hockey players came from the fast growing Ottawa Valley. It is safe to say then, that the Silver Seven hockey team was loaded with some of the most skilled players of that era. The team had players such as H.K. Adams, Stewart Hall, Don Cameron, to name a few. These men are still some of today's most highly regarded athletes. Pass, Shoot, Rebound, Score! All of this can happen in less than five seconds. In a game where every minute counts a player must often be "quick as lightning". Ottawa's Silver Seven were akin to a lightning storm. They had some of histories fastest moving individuals to ever grace the ice. They time and time again won games by huge margins. This was not only due to their phenomenal speed but superior agility and ability to enjoy every moment of those sixty minutes on the ice. The era in which the Silver Seven existed was one where a young man could not base his career on Hockey. As mentioned before, the Silver Seven played for the love of the game, not for the minimal cash awards that came from it. This, as far as I am concerned made for better players. They were forced to keep their minds sharp with intellectual matters. Spending time to practice other fields of study allowed them to release day to day pressures that professional hockey brings.
