With the Dawes plan beginning to bare fruit, Germanys economic situation looked to be getting better, so now people turned away from extremists groups of both let and right and in the December election left and right lost seats. At the Bamberg conference of 1926 Hitler made it clear what he wanted of the Nazi party and he began to set down its ideology and its political structure as well as promoting himself to an almost godlike figure which is to be revered by all Nazis. By the time the 1928 election had came about much of Hitler’s time had gone into the restructuring of the party and not enough time had been devoted to the election and the canvassing of votes, as a result the Nazis only gained 12 seats. Germany by this time looked to be a nation on the up, it was now the culture capital of Europe where literature and art thrived, and its economic state on the surface looked to be excellent. Under the surface however Germanys stock market was built upon shaky foundations which the slightest push could bring the whole market down, this is what happened when the stock market crashed on Wall Street. Stocks plummeted, and the US was in trouble and if the US is in trouble financially it means that so to are the rest of Europe because at the time they were relying heavily on loans from America. The US was now facing a most dire depression so it had to call in as much of the loans as possible. So Germany began to print money to pay the loans, but in the end this meant only one thing, which is that eventually the money becomes worthless and hyperinflation sets in.
