If yours looks something like 170/95, you in for some trouble. Some effects of high blood pressure are as extreme as death. The average heart beats more than 3,600 times each hour and high blood pressure can make your heart work extra hard to circulate your blood. Over time, this can result in damage to the heart muscle, and possible heart attack or stroke. High blood pressure can also contribute to kidney failure, brain damage, and impaired vision. As you can see, high blood pressure is no joke, and every effort must be used in lowering your own if too high. There are many different ways to help lower your blood pressure and they are but not limited to exercise, a balanced diet, managing your stress, cutting back on your partying (kick back on the alcohol), and I even read about a certain diet called the “DASH” diet, which is in essence a specific balanced diet. First and most importantly, if not already done so, you must go and get your blood pressure read. You can get yours read just about anywhere nowadays. I got mine read at Rite-Aid. My values were 147/73 with a pulse of 99. I read that your blood pressure can fluctuate up to 30 points within minutes, so ten minutes after my first reading I did another and it read 143/72 with a pulse of 95. My systolic pressure is a little high but my diastolic is perfect. Earlier I stated that diastolic is the one that is most important so I guess I am alright.
