Oedipus and his true parents challenge Apollo, the god of knowledge, by wanting to know the future and try to change it. Because of this ate is placed on all there eyes, and ironically they are all in the dark for many years. As Oedipus’s hubris gets worse, so does his ate. The moral of this story is that it is wrong to change your fate and challenge the gods, resistance will only make it sure to happen. Oedipus’s parents pre-damned him by asking the oracles at Delphi what their fate was, so even before Oedipus is born, his parents already meddled with his fate.
