When the House convenes, the member from the First Representative District shall act as temporary presiding officer. The House shall then immediately elect a temporary chair. The temporary chair shall appoint a temporary Clerk and a credentials committee of not less than three members. 1.2. The credentials committee shall immediately examine the credentials of the members elected. Upon verification that the credentials are in order, the credentials committee shall report this to the House, and the temporary chair shall order the temporary Clerk to call the roll. 1.3. The temporary chair shall then appoint a committee of not less than three members to wait upon a justice of the Supreme Court or a judge of the Intermediate Court of Appeals or Circuit Court to administer the oath of office, as required by the Constitution of the State of Hawaii. After the oath has been duly administered, the House shall organize by electing by resolution, a Speaker, Vice Speaker, Clerk, Assistant Clerk, Sergeant-at-Arms, and Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms and by adopting Rules. 1.4.
