...sion I was able to understand the plot more clearly, notice what roles the characters were actually playing and how a few of them were very different from what I gathered in the play just by reading the words and not being able to see anything. So based on my observations above I am going to have to go with the Mel Gibson version of Hamlet over the Ethan Hawke one.1.) What effect does the death of Polonius have on Ophelia? How did the King handle Laertes violent entrance into the court? What aspect of the king does this reveal? What did the Kind promise after Laertes saw Ophelia? Claudius attempts to soothe him by acknowledging that Polonius is dead. He convinces Laertes to hear his version of events, which he says will answer all his questions. 3.) How did Hamlet escape the custody of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern? What other information was in his letter to Horatio? A Pirate attack Hamlet’s letter features a return of the motif of ears and hearing, as the prince tells Horatio that “ I have words to speak in thine ear will make thee dumb,” an open reference to the poison into King Hmalet’s ear by the murderous Claudius. 4.)
