Well’s scientific novels were highly entertaining but there was always an underlying message, people should have a wiser attitude of the future of mankind2. The aspect of the science in Wells’ novels has been questioned numerous times and it has been said that Jules Boyd Page 2 Verne, a French writer, criticized his work Verne accused Wells of having "scientifically implausible ideas"3. Wells not only wrote science-fiction but also wrote more serious novels like Kipp(1905) and Tonobungay(1909) Wells joined the socialist Fabian Society in 1903 and when WW1 broke out he was having an affair with Rebecca West, a young author. She is thought to have had a large influence on his life and work4. After the war ended Wells published several more books which he wrote in collaboration with his son George and Sir Julian Huxley.
