...Stone Age came into place it was much like the Old Stone Age for the exception that the Mesolithic people domesticated certain animals, such as dogs and goats. The New Stone Age was a lot more different. Even though they still raised animals the Neolithic people now learned how to farm. They no longer used clothing from animals to make clothing they now learned to weave baskets and made clothing from plant fibers and wool. A huge addition to their new lifestyle was the invention of the wheel. The wheel made it easier for them to travel and carry heavier objects. In Mohenjo-Daro the landscape had a massive hilltop structure. The farmers produced enough food to support tens of thousand of city inhabitants, they bring food from outlying villages and store the food in huge warehouses. Their variety of crops included wheat, barley, melons, and dates. They were also the 1st people to cultivate cotton and weave its fibers into cloth, no longer using animal skins and so on. Their city was well planned, that could be seen with their grid pattern plan, and their elaborate modern day sewer system. The Nile River consistently brought fertile soil into Egypt, so the Egyptians diverted floodwaters and drained swamplands to meet their agricultural needs. The settlement patterns were affected due to the flooding. Since the Egyptians knew when the river was going to flood, they had an idea area to live in right after the line of flood. Also being between a desert and a river constricted the flow of population growth. So, many densely populated cities were formed, like Thebes and Memphis, but the mass of people chose to live in villages throughout the Nile River.
