Grizzly Bears

If only 5 people have died over the past 150 in Yellowstone and more people have been killed by vending machines, then grizzly bears should be allowed to live in the wild. We still have vending machines in the USA and only 5 people were killed over 150, which is a pretty good ratio. The next reason why grizzly bears should be introduced into the Northwest is because the government is ensuring the peoples safety because if there is a problem with the bears they will be killed. The grizzlies would be classified as an experimental population, which would mean that if the bears caused problems they could be relocated or killed (USA Today, 1). An effort would be made to prevent them from entering populated regions (USA Today, 1). The bears would obviously be regulated so nothing bad could happen, or they could die. This shows that the government is serious about protecting the people and making sure the bears don’t go in populated areas. The last reason why the grizzlies should be introduced into the Northwest is because that’s there homeland. Before the European settlement 50,00 to 100,000 grizzly bears lived from Canada to Mexico and much of the high plains to the Pacific Coast (USA Today, 1).
