...e to his aid and fought off the humans. Hrothgar became king in those parts of a huge kingdom. There was this fellow that Grendel called the Sharper, a singer, who he feel in love with his music. The music really touched him inside, but he also felt another presence calling for him. That was the dragon, a big beastly looking monster and he was scary even to Grendel. The dragon told him to do whatever he wanted because life was pointless; this enraged the many years of loneliness and anger Grendel has had. Later, Grendel finds out the dragon put a spell on him, making him almost invincible. Now Grendel doesn’t even have to fight with the warriors anymore to eat them, like he had to before. One day he encounters a warrior by the name of Unferth, he talks about how he is heroic and Grendel just laughs at him and knocks him down. Unferth follows him to his cave, and tries to explain to Grendel how heroic he is, so Grendel punishes him by not killing him to have a so-called heroic death. Grendel starts to get a little paranoid thinking something bad is going to happen, maybe it was just boredom. There is a priest that he messes with claming he’s god, but the priest just goes in depth about religion to him, and angers Grendel. Later on the Sharper, the singer Grendel adored dies, this makes Grendel hold back less when killing townspeople. He attends the funeral, s...
