I believe that deep down all of us know that in a way Gordon has a point. If you really get down to it, greed is an essential part of life. If you think of greed as an instinctive reaction rather than a behavior, then it makes sense. Through the history of the Earth instinctive greed has been present. Animals, always fending for themselves. If they killed their prey, they were greedy by not sharing a hard earned meal. Families of wolves don't share a good den with other wolves, so they are greedy as well. So in this way the greedy have survived. They did not go hungry, they did not freeze during the winter. I think that when this sort of greed is applied to life, then you will prosper. In the movie "Wall street" Mr. Gekko, out of greed goes behind Bud Fox's back and tries to sell the airline that Bud's Dad works at. In this deal Gekko would make about $10,000.
