Great expectation

When he was a child, his sister treated him badly and other adults also didn¡¯t like him. I suppose that maybe the reason why he was a little rebel at his age. Fortunately, he had Joe, his sister¡¯s husband who was kind to him and often protected him, so staying with Joe, Pip was happy. But all his life was changed after he was brought to Miss Havisham and Estella. Although they were rich, they were cold and arrogant, especially Estella. She looked down upon Pip and laughed at his poor and less education. But Pip was infatuated with her. This is not his fault, however, his fault was that he began to feel ashamed of his family and friends. And to find favor in Estella¡¯s eyes, he wanted to study and become a gentleman. One day, a lawyer came to him and told him that a person would pay for him to be educated as a gentleman and later let him inherited a fortune. To Pip, it seemed that his dream had come true and in his opinion it was Miss Havisham who was making him rich. He left his home and went to London. As he becoming a gentleman, he felt ashamed of his background and his friends more then before. All he thought was only his ¡°great expectation¡±. Even Joe came to visit him, he was worried about that Joe¡¯s manners would lose his face. His vanity nearly ruined his life. But fortunately he had devoted friends like Joe, Herbert who saved him.
