The diary starts and ends in September - covering a two year period. The diary begins as Alice turns 15 years old. She comes from a middle-class family and has a younger brother and sister. The first year shows how Alice is a typical teenage girl, with insecurities, but otherwise a "good kid". Then it all starts to go downhill after she starts hanging out with the "wrong crowd" and gets mixed up with drugs. All of a sudden, the once innocent girl who never smoked, drank, did drugs or had sex, does all that and much more. Unlike most books dealing with drugs, this was a page turner, keeping me entertained the entire time, while providing a clear insight on how drugs do not only alter the life of the user, but as well as those close to them. Alice’s former friends no longer want to associate with her, and the morals she previously possessed are no longer present.
