Global Positioning Systems(GPS)
...se posititioned receivers work accuracy depends on weather visibility, Therefore we cannot easily adjust, make any changes to any damaged satellite, or make improvements to these highly sophisticated machines. Because these satellites are in space, I believe it’s a problem for several major issues. In my opinion, it all boils down to us the taxpayers, raising our taxes, taking from our school money and other sources to continue these experiments. In the long runs we still have to come back and pay for the services provided by these experiments. This is one of the main issues that we have been dealing with in the past, which we still live, and shall continue to be an issue in the future. The solutions to these problems have not yet been met, but have been somewhat moderate, and now we all enjoy the advantages of Cell Phones, and Cable TV, and other goodies provided by GPS. The other main issue is that the weather can very easily interfere with the accuracy of these technologies, mainly the(WWW.colorado.edu/geogrphy/gcraft/notes/gps )GPS. The cloudy days, rainy days and the locations of the user are main factors of these restrictions to good accurate performance of service on time. Solutions have not yet been 100% satisfied, but it is somewhat close to perfection, by adding newer and stronger receivers at multiple locations around the world. The 24 satellites. Satellite visibility depends upon local conditions. Some users may be able to track satellites less than 5 degrees above the horizon, while other users may have difficulty even at 10 degrees.Relationship with Local Geodetic Systems.
