...ll. So Enkidu stops Gilgamesh from rampaging in the city, but leads the way and helps him on his rampage out of the city. Enkidu knew how destructive this behavior is and how the gods wouldn’t like it, but he still helps Gilgsmesh do it. It is Enkidu who kills the Heavenly Bull “…Enkidu seized its horns and thrust his sword into the back of its neck.” So Enkidu helps Gilgamesh be destructive by being destructive and saves Gilgameshs life while doing it. Enkidu helps Gilgamesh accomplish several destructive tasks, which he does not need to do. By doing this he disobeys the gods because he does the opposite of what he is created for. Then when Enkidu dies, Gilgamesh goes on a quest for immortality and on this quest he does not display any destructive behavior and does not destroy anything. Finally when Gilamesh gets the plant that grants you back your youth he says “ ‘…I will carry it back to Erech and give it to the people to eat. So will I at least have some reward for my pains.’ ”.
