My parents named me Joshua from the Joshua in the Bible. My last name, Jackson, was English, and my mom’s maiden name, Eagan, was Irish. My dad always calls me DaDa and Leroy. I really don’t know where he came up with these names, but he did. I like my name, because it is a cool name and describes me well. My name is still in the top ten of baby’s names right now. If I were born the opposite sex, my name would have been Lauren. I am the oldest child out of three. I have a brother that I ten (his name is Joe Paul) and a sister that is sixteen (her name is Jenni). My parents wanted all of our names to start with “J”. My sister and I are eleven months apart, so we grew up pretty close to each other. Most of my childhood memories were with her. I remember getting up every morning and waking my sister up. Then, we would go in the kitchen and eat breakfast. When I was born my mom and dad bought me a Mickey Mouse stuffed animal. I slept with that for a long time. It was blue, with the big ears, and had a bib around its neck. Then, when I was six, my great aunt bought me a stuffed monkey. I retired the Mickey mouse and slept with the monkey. I never could think of a name for him, but I was watching television one night and I heard the name Caesar. I figured that was a good name for a monkey, so I named him Caesar. He is black, with a brown nose, hands, and feet. He has had wholes worn in him in the past, but my grandma sowed him up every time, I still have him, and I plan on giving him to my kid.
