...ture. Sprawled out on my floor we took a piece of paper and pen and wrote this down. We wrote out our life, our memories, our plans, our goals and our dreams on a single sheet of paper. We folded them up and tossed them into a medium-sized, black box that was decorated with little ladybugs. We scoured my endless collection of pictures for ones of ourselves. Into the box went pictures, ones of our families, our friends, our animals, fun times we shared and of ourselves. We threw in notes we had received throughout the year, most from each other, and one other thing. I don’t exactly remember what my friends put in nor do I remember what I put in for that matter. But we sealed the box, wrapped it in a big, black, garbage bag and headed out into the night with just our box, a shovel, a flashlight and a lantern. By now it was past midnight and the hidden, crescent moon didn’t provide any light. Now and then the stars drifted through the clouds to show their magnificence to us. The air was crisply cold, but held the moisture of that which followed rain. The ground sank beneath our feet in mushy, gushy mud as we trekked further and further into the woods behind my house. We searched near and far and finally settled for somewhere in between to be the resting place of our box. We dug a whole next to a tall dead tree and searched for a marker. One box held our thoughts, our treasures, our past, our present and our future. We encircled the resting place of this box and made a pact that we would be friends forever and always and t...
