The statistics of my school of the people that have STD’s are shockingly high. I feel the cause of this in not entirely because of failure to be safe or taking care of themselves, but mainly because of lack of knowledge and ignorance to the risks, consequences, and sometimes even life threatening situations that they are putting themselves in. Speaking from my personal experience of my high school career, the risks and consequences were not discussed in the classroom. The knowledge I gained about these topics was from outside of school.
