Share cropping was like slavery but they actually owned part of the land that they worked but this did not get them very much profit. They had got to use the equipment that they needed from the people they worked for. They also had to work the peoples land they worked for as well as the land they owned. This means they worked from day break to day end, this left them with no time for anything else. One of the worst things for the blacks to do at the time was tenant farming.
