Freedom is not Free

...he price of our abundance is very cheap. You get so much more than you bargain for, with but three obligations: your obligation to the past, your obligation to the present, and you obligation to the future. Our obligation to the past is to remember. We owe it to ourselves to study the past of America so that we might acquire a better appreciation and understanding of the construction of this nation. We must acknowledge the mistakes of the past and learn from them, that is the only way to better ourselves personally and the way that this country is ran. This country was not always free, many men had to give their lives in dreadful wars so that America could achieve freedom. The least that we can do is to give the heroes respect and remembrance. Our obligation to the present is to cooperate. It is up to the citizens and the government to run this country, and to do so successfully we must, painstakingly as it may be, vote and pay our taxes. It only takes a little bit of common since to realize that it is your responsibility to be a law-abiding citizen. We are all aware that our country was put under attack on that fatal September day of 9/11. The terrorists thought that they could weaken our spirits, but we proved them wrong, we bonded as a nation making us stronger than ever. Right now we must simply have faith in America and in God and he will deliver us. The obligation to the future is to care. We must take care of the environment now so that there will be a future.
