He works very hard for two years and produces his creation –a giant and ugly creature. Even he himself is horrified to see this creature- it was a mad dream. The monster, brilliantly played by Boris Karloff, is a very complex character. He is very unhappy with his creator. His dull yellow eyes are so scary. “All men hate the wretched, I am miserable beyond all living things” expressed the monster. The monster was afraid of the light because he had never seen the light before. Even Victor, the creator, finds his creation a catastrophe. Mingled with horror, he feels the bitterness of disappointment and his dream turns into hell. He is scared to be in the same room with the monster. He goes out to the mountains to find relief. He returns to his room and the monster has disappeared. Victor feels very relieved. Thereafter the film shows that both come across each other. Here the monster complaints to his creator about how lonely he were, that everyone finds him very ugly and detests him and he has nowhere to go. He requests Victor to create a female for his partner. These dialogues in the mountain setting are excellent and fill you with pity for the monster and disgust for Victor. One feels Victor was wrong. The dialogues are very forceful.
