Government regulations have also determined strict safety guidelines for many working conditions that provide a safer working environment. Many goods and services are regulated by government guidelines, which assure an appropriate level of quality. Our national defense is also maintained at a high level to assure national security. While all of these programs are necessary, the primary disadvantage of increasing the government in order to provide them is the increasing cost.
