Form follows Function: The Front Door
...h a word or phrase that ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison. I never thought or looked at the front door in this metaphorical way before I read Rybczynski thoughts about it. And now that I see the front door in this matter I can identify with Rybczynski’s metaphor on the front door. I can now think of the front door being related to many family and social event in my life. With every school year when I was young how my dad always wanted a picture of me and my sister in school attire and backpacks standing right in front of the front door. Every prom I ever went to there is a picture of me and my date standing inside or in front of the front door. But what about the purpose of the back door?
