In 1991 the average baseball player earned forty-seven times the average United States income. Professional sports are loved by everyone, but lets be serious these guys are drastically overpaid, and some of this money should be going to the hardworking everyday people or starving children in poverty stricken countries. Not to be saying that players don=t work their entire life to be where they are now and they should be commended for it, but not by paying them millions of dollars a season. It=s has if the love of for the game that used to be there before money became the top priority has just been flushed down the toilet. Strikes are very big issues these days in professional sports. Every now and then a professional sport is on strike, always over the issue of money. The past National Basketball Association lockout is the prime example of money ruining what was to be a good season. It=s just a bunch of greedy owners and greedy players fighting over absurd amounts of money. The biggest issue in all professional sports strikes is the salary cap. The economics in today=s sports is hurting the fans, teams, and the leagues themselves. Now a day=s teams that have money win, and teams that don=t just get swept away.
