For The Love Of The Game
...ent to destroy us, and they failed. We cannot let them succeed. The anniversaries of this day are important. This was the worst attack on America in history. This day is a time for our country to mourn and to grieve for all that was lost. This is also a day for celebration, a celebration of the lives that were saved, a celebration for the heroes who sacrificed their lives for so many others, and a celebration for the fact that no matter what happens, we are still America. We are still standing, and we are still surviving. Sports are an important part of American history. September 11th will always be a day remembered to everyone as the day that America was attacked. We should not dwell on the fact that we could have been killed. We should remember the fact that we survived. We were not defeated. If we continue to take part in things that we love and the things that we cherish, then nobody can change what we have made our country to be. Sports should still be played and should still be watched. We should still gather around the television on September 11th and remember this tragic day, but we should also remember that if it were not for sports, then maybe we would not be where we are today. Maybe we would not have healed from this event as quickly as we did. We all came together and supported everything that everyone felt we should do to overcome this horrific tragedy. Baseball was still played in the following days, and people enjoyed the fact that we had something familiar to turn to when our country was in despair and dismay. It took our minds away, if only for a moment from everything that was happening, from everything that so many were afraid to face, but ready to make better and repair. We overcame in a relatively short amount of time what would take, for most people years to repair, and we should all be proud of the job that we have done. Sports should not be taken away on September 11th. Sports are an important part of what America is. Sports are ce...
