The monster relates himself to Adam and expects the same treatment from his ‘God.’ Unlike Adam’s God, who has already given him Eve, Victor refuses when the monster asks for a companion, Victor says, “ you may render me the most miserable of men, but you shall never make me base in my own eyes”(104), When the monsters request is denied, he starts to be more like Satan then he is like Adam, when he decides to take vengeance on Victor by murdering his family and friends. Satan in similar does the same when he “takes” God’s angels. This shows that both Satan and the monster commit improper acts toward their own creators. Satan and the monster are both rejected by society because of looks and attitude. The monster compares himself roll to Satan saying, “ Many times I considered Satan as the fitter emblem of my condition; for often, like him, when I viewed the bliss of my protectors, the bitter gull of envy rose within me”(92). The monster is like Satan in that they are both rejected by their creators, Adam because of his own choice, the monster because of his creators negligence. Victor and God have many similarities, as they are both creators of incarnations, Victor with his monster, and God with Satan. As creators of another, God and Victor are very much alike, in that they both lose part of their “family” and they let the war between them and their creations go on too long. Victor says, “ I collected bones from charnel houses; and disturbed, with profane fingers, the tremendous secrets of the human frame”(33). This shows that Victor creates a monster out of corpses, just as God creates Satan out of Satan’s envy for him. Victor is disgusted with his own creation similar to God’s disgust with Satan’s pride.
