... be his wife, all because he wants to be a king. The values Farquire has and enforces not only are self-centered but are unethical and have a major impact on the town of Duloc. He is one of the main reasons why all the townspeople are predigest towards Shrek in the first place. He creates this perfect little society where nothing is out of place, the information booth even sings “Duloc is, Duloc is, Duloc is the perfect place”. By creating this he has made a society were everything and everyone is available for his every need and desire. He has total control and is ultimately the god of Duloc.
