I think that Bromley does a better job of explaining the mentality of the women, which she is representing. Where as Bliven gives the men’s point of view, as well as the rest of society. It seemed as though Bromley was trying to give support with logical reasoning to the movement and Bliven seemed to poke fun at it. It doesn’t matter whose point of view you decided to accept the movement still succeeded. I think that in today's world women have the choices that the "feminists-new style" were fighting for. It is ok in this day and age to stay single your entire life, get divorced if the marriage you enter into isn't working. It is ok to have a job, have children, and have a husband. I think there are still some women that don’t really understand how lucky they are to have the freedoms that they have, somewhat like flapper Jane. I think that women nowadays are very privileged in comparison to the women of the past. We can go to college without being looked at funny. We can become professionals in fields other than nursing and education. We can stay single all our lives, or get married and divorced 15 times. We don’t have to have children but we can if we want to. Most importantly we are not looked at as inferior the way that women of the past were. We can have children and use our brains too! I found both of these articles to be very interesting even though they came from different prospectives. I feel that they highlighted the main ideas and morals that were present in the time period and that were expressed by the new feminists.
