If the snowball didn't hit her and cause her to have a premature birth Dunstan may have not been in the predicament he was. Fate caught up with him and he had to live out what he created from the beginning. Incidents like this happen all the time and sometimes it seems as though we can control our fate. Fateful events happened in the start which ultimately led into new situations as a result from the beginning. Instances from the past can sometimes create or mold what people are to become in their lives. During the war Dunstan saw the Virgin Mary statue when he was dying, which led him into the study of Saints. Saints became a very important part of his life in which he devoted a lot of his time and effort into the study and publication of his book. Had Dunstan not seen this statue and experience the miracle at this time he may not have been the person he is now, and perhaps he may not have met certain people in the story. Fate had it that he would see the statue that turned him into the more spiritual person he is now. Fate can change people since these past instances have such great influence on their minds. Circumstances in the past can help create and change a person life drastically. A favour is a prime example of what could spark the future fate of a person. Paul Dempster is one of the world's best magicians, since he learned from Dunstan when he was doing a favour by taking care of Paul. Dunstan's deed changed Paul’s life forever.
