The invitation to the study serves as a right of passage for Aaron. He feels like he is somebody. Aaron prepares for his bar matzoh in the study and even plays his guitar while his father listens. Once Eliza wins the district bee, Saul devotes all of his free time to Eliza. The guitar sessions that Aaron has with Saul in the study are less frequent until finally the door is closed on Aaron.
