... For most of us our parents dressed us in O.P. brand shorts and Kangaroo shoes, you know the ones with the little pockets on the sides with the two Velcro strips to hold the shoes tight. A lot likes the shoes you can by at K-Mart. Usually you see old people wearing the Velcro shoes. I remember the first pair of shoes I got to pick out on my own; they were a pair of Vans – Off the Walls. They were high tops with extra suede on the side where normal shoes would wear out from skateboarding, and they had red canvas on the sides. I was so happy as a child to finally be able to help pick out my own clothes. Today I see girls who still play with dolls, but dress like 18-year-old hookers. Going to school in mid-drift shirts with cut off shorts that are way too short is not really appropriate. It’s sad to see the youth of America dressing that way, and most of the youth don’t understand why. Why does their shirt have to be cut so low for a child? Or why do their shorts have to be so short? Little boys have it much easier than little girls do; they don’t need to show there mid-drift to feel like they’re getting attention. You never see a little boy walking down the street with super short shorts, or showing mid-drift. Little boys don’t seem to be as involved in fashion. Why do we pay so much attention to today’s trends instead of trying to find out who we are? We are so busy trying to fit in; many people spend their whole lives trying to fit the stereotypical role shown to us be society. With more and more people opting to go under the knife for plastic surgery, and liposuction. It’s funny how one person can say something is in and look at how many people go to do it. ...
