To Adrienne, she is just happy to be out of the hospital, whereas someone from the club might be happy because they got a new pair of shoes. She has lived a different lifestyle than the rest of the people around her and her goals and attitude towards life because of her lifestyle also separate her from her peers. Adrienne’s lifestyle consisted of living in the hospital and taking dozens of different pills each day to keep her motivated. Before Adrienne moved out of the hospital she was a wreck. Her hair was never combed and she wore plain clothes. Then she moved to in order to start something new and for this reason her value of money and fashion isn‘t as great as her friends. After hanging around the house, Brittany saw some sort of charm in her and wanted to turn her into the kind of girl that every girl was in the crowd. After taking Adrienne shopping to get all new clothes, a new make over, and a few other touch-ups, she had created the beauty queen just like herself. She may have been the new beauty queen but that doesn’t change her attitude or her goals towards life as far as succeeding past the point of having to return to the hospital. Adrienne’s job at the club is what has been carrying her and by working hard, she’s able to maintain her state of mind to where it needs to be. Brittany is the cute, innocent looking angel. She’s got the smile, angelic charm, and to top it off she drives a convertible Mercedes, only wears brand name clothes such as J.Crew and Versace. Not only does she spend her money on particular fashion designers, but she goes to the best hairstylists and beauticians around. Her sense of fashion reveals to us that she is wealthy because of the way she flaunts her money. She believes that money and clothes will take her everywhere she needs to be because of the way she was raised and the lifestyle she has grown up in, which is the country club lifestyle. Brittany’s value of money and fashion ranks the highest among any of her peers because it’s what got her the popularity she had longed for. Her lifestyle was one that valued being looked upon and remembered as being stylish and classy than one of being known as kind and caring. Although Brittany looks cute and innocent, it is immediately revealed to the audience that she has a dark side by the way that she shows her jealousy as Adrienne moves in on Matt, the guy of her dreams. The director does a good job of twisting the style aspect and her inner-self because evil is traditionally represented by dark. In the scenes that Brittany turns bad, she just so happens to be wearing a dark dress, skirt, or sunglasses and Adrienne always appears to be wearing just the opposite. Brittany had an older sister named Sandra, who mysteriously disappeared one day. When Sandra was around, nobody knew Brittany. Everything was about Sandra and Brittany was jealous. Sandra was all natural, she didn’t have try to be stylish or fashionable because that‘s just how she was. This is not to say that her value and lifestyle around fashion was not important to her because it was. Once Sandra left , Brittany began to change her style and wear Sandra’s clothes, which were mini skirts, tube-tops, and elaborate dresses for formals. She immediately gained the attention she always wanted and was finally known around the club. Before she was just known as the spoiled brat, but once people realized she had style and class, they began to talk to her and invite her places. Soon enough she was on top of things and her attitude and pursuit towards her goal was what took her there. Her goal was to be on top of her class and she was willing to do whatever it took to get there. In the end, it turns out that she reached her goal of being on top of her friends by killing...
