In 1959, this troublesome guy had more street quarrels resulting in police¡¯s involvement; therefore, his parents decided to send him back to America. When he¡¯s back to San Francisco, he stayed with his father¡¯s old friend and was being a waiter. He enrolled in Edison Technical School to get his high school diploma and began to teach Kung Fu in his backyard and parking lot. In springtime of 1961, he enrolled in University of Washington in Seattle with the major of Philosophy. In 1964, Bruce had opened his first Jun Fan Kung Fu Institution near to the campus of University of Washington and then he opened the second one in Oakland in 1964. At the same year, he asked Linda Emery for marrying him and they resided in Oakland since then. They had a son and a daughter named Brandon Lee and Santa Monica. On August 2, 1964 in Long Beach, Bruce was invited to an international Karate championship to demonstrate. His fast and strong movement shocked every audience. Later, the film of demonstration was passed to Dozier, who was looking for characters for his TV series, so Bruce was asked to fly down to Los Angeles to have a screen test. That started his life of actor in the U.S. The first TV series he acted was ¡°Green Hornet¡± and it became the most popular TV show in Hong Kong. That helped increasing his fame a lot and he had become a superstar in Hong Kong. Then, he opened his third Kung Fu Institution in the Chinatown of Los Angeles. Thereafter, Bruce had many chances to play role in TV series such as ¡°Marlowe¡± and ¡°Longstreet¡± and he was also asked to give lesson to those well-known actors for about $250 per hour. When he was back to Hong Kong again, the owner of a TV company offered a leading role to Bruce in the movie ¡°The Big Boss¡± and he was paid over $100,000. ¡°The Big Boss¡± was filmed in Thailand and it was also released in the U.S. as ¡°Fists of Fury¡±.
