Faculty and Friends Jazz concert
...and Les Merrill – drums, Lorenzo Vasquez – bass, Joe Huerta and Roberto Cascante - percussions. The concert was prepared carefully. The stage was arranged in the way easy to view the artists. The band played a series of Jazz in the concert. Most parts of the concert gave great sense of relaxation and swing feeling by fantastic melodies. As an audience, I was really impressed by the modulation in tone and the conspicuous musicianship. I like the way Charlie Otwell, the pianist, played. He played very well in “How Do You Keep the Music Playing?” with Melanie Jackson. Her voice was so sweet based on the background piano by Charlie Otwell. Another song I liked was “I Didn’t Know What Time It Was” performed by Melanie Jackson. The piano solo by Brian Kehlenbach was truly amazing. During the concert, as I looked around in the audience, I could see people bobbing their heads, and tapping their feet. They were interested with what happening in the stage. Every time the piano was played, I really fell in deep impression. Due to the fast tempo of this kind of music, I feel so intensify even though it sounded smooth and mellow.
