A board member should not only look for his own good but for everyone’s. Everyone should know that the greatest asset of a business is not its money, or management, but its’ employees. Leaving employees in such manner will demoralize them and business will go down for sure. Not to count the law suits that will come afterwards. As business takeover affect many people, board members have obligations to their employees, consumers, community and the world. They have a responsibility to conduct business in a way that is not harmful and which positively benefits as many people as possible and themselves. From my viewpoint, acting in an ethical manner comes from each and every individual, each having learned from the environment in which they have grown and developed.
