Energy policy
...on fossil fuels is a reckless policy! The fact is the earth only has a finite supply of oil and at the rate we are wasting the resources, the earths supply will be exhausted very shortly. How much oil we have and how long it will last can be argued at great length, but the simple reality is, we will run out of fossil fuel. When is the only question? The vast majority of accepted research concludes the byproducts of burning fossil fuels are destroying the ozone layer. For the first time in recorded history ice started melting at the North Pole last summer. The levels of the worlds’ oceans are rising every year and some South Pacific Islands are in danger of disappearing under water. We all know the damage being caused by air pollution to the health of the earths’ population; and it is conceded the biggest contributors to this problem are the byproducts of the internal combustion engine. The political ramifications of oil dependence have become very apparent as we once again prepare for a war in the Middle East. With worldwide supplies dwindling we can anticipate even more wars in the future. I have to wonder why we continue a policy of dependence on a disappear...
