The third one is Mr. Knightly and Jane. (Jane is a niece of her neighbor) it was again her mistake. Then, emma had another mistake. She thought Harriet loved Mr. Knightly. She was shocked because Mr. Knightly was one of her best friends. So, she didn¡¯t want to lose him. If they get marriage, her life has a big change. Mr. Knightly proposed emma, contrary to Emma¡¯s expectation. What happened? At long last Emma found that she loved Mr. Knightly. She found that her all expectations were wrong. She acknowledged people can be happier if they chose their partner themselves. Finally, Frank and Jane got married, and Harriet and Robert got Married. The major theme of the novel is the folly of arrogance and self-deception, as portrayed in Emma. She foolishly thinks that she is better than most people ans is capable of managing the lives of others, such as Harriet Smith and Clergyman Elton. She also deludes herself, believing that Frank Churchill is in love with her. It is this self-deception that causes her to behave in a ridiculous manner with Frank during the Box Hill picnic. Fortunately, through the guidance of Knightley, Emma leaves her self-delusion behind. The most important in this novel is the marriage into different social classes. Emma is the center which all the personages turn around. Emma and her father, Mr. Woodhouse, belong to upper class. Each one has different opinions about the marriage, for example: miss Taylor married with Mr. Weston. She has been the nursemaid of emma since the death of her mother but when emma grew she was her best friend. Emma thought that the couple was united by her.
