People who would normally be spending their money on themselves now have to switch their focus over to the needs of their parents. People’s consumption of products is now changing. With this change in needs, there will be a shift in demand for businesses to offers age specific products focused on the needs of seniors. As well there is a stronger need for support by the government for additional health care and programs for the elderly. Currently the province of Ontario only offers four hours a week to assist the elderly in their homes and many of them need much more care then that. This has relevance to this course in that there is going to be and has already been a shift in where people are spending their money and where the government spends its money.
