Egyptian Goddess & Catholic Virgin
... give us some type of visual form of us to identify with with. Although I'm not aware that in the Catholic religion there is any practice of sacraficing. We do offer things to our God and Saints, such as flowers and candles as a gift. One thing I also wonder about is how they prayed to their Gods. I can't help but to picture them kneeling down in a worship place dedicated to that God or statue, with their fingers inerlocked between each other close to their face. How would they have prayed to the Goddess Isis? Is it the same as the way I pray to Virgin Anna (both listed on the next page) Isis: She is known as the divine mother, protector goddess of guarding coffins and Canopic jars. She is also as the Queen of Heaven and rules over all matters concerning life, mothering, and sorcery. Virgin Anna: Is known in my Catholic Church community as the mother who helps save Houses. Many stories are said of people who were close to loosing their houses, and were able to save them because of her. Last September my husband and I both were laid off from our jobs. We came very close to loosing our home. That is when my mother told me about Virgin Anna and what miracles she had preformed. So during my prayers I also prayed to her. Although my husband and I have both found work, we have both taken a considerable pay cut. But even with that we have been able to keep our home. I do consider that a miracle. So just as I prayed to my Virgin Anna to help us save our house, because those were the miracles that were specifically attributed to her. I wonder if a scenerio like mine back in the day would have also been reason for their praying to their Gods. For instace if someone in that time was going through a scenerio...
