Edmund Spencer
...cer became the secretary to Lord Grey of Wilton, govenor of Ireland. Edmund did not visit England often after recieving this jov. He only came back twice for the supervision of his epic poem The Faerie Queen, which was never acually finished. It took Spencer ten years to write the first three books of The Faerie Queen which was published in 1590 and in honor of queen Elizabeth. Spencer married Elizabeth Boyle in 1594 and they had four children. In all, six books of The Faerie Queen were finished and published. A seventh book was not finished but was published in 1598. This poem talks about how many things are beautiful and pretty, but are bitter, harsh, and sour on the inside. I believe that the poem relates not only to the world but also of love. The poem shows this by greatly expressing how things can look so grand at times but turn out sour in the end. The poem does this by using such things as a rose and a cypres...
