Edgar allen poe's Dreams

...t to follow. Although after reading it ten to twenty times, I began to get more confused. Most people may believe that there are multiple interpretations of this poem, which to me would be easy to understand. Another thing that most people would understand is that Edgar Allan Poe was an odd man. Figurative languages in this poem were such things as beam which is referring to the light of the sun. He used this word to express waking up to the eternity that is the start of the day. “Loveliness, have left my very heart” was referring to when he woke up that his love had left him for all eternity. He used life as a vivid coloring. He used this to say that dreams were coloring his dull, black and white life. For symbolism he said, “Some power or spell had bound me.” He connects this to not being able to remember his pleasant dreams or his childhood. All that he can remember are all of his horrible nightmares. The Beam of eternity, what he talked about is the sun light shooting him in the eye causing him to come to reality that is tomorrow morning. He says that all though his dreams were not good, it is always better than the reality that is today and tomorrow. He would talk about dreaming in his youth and when he dreamt he would dream about eternity in the highest heaven. This is obviously one of his child hood dreams...
