Earth is the only planet in our solar system that is equipped with water and oxygen, which are both vital for a source of life. It is at a right distance away from the sun, which means it’s neither too cold nor too hot. Mars nicknamed the red planet is a dry cold desert of red rock, with huge mountains and canyons. It has a thin atmosphere of carbon dioxide and 2 small moons. Jupiter is the largest planet and very cold, it has no solid surface. The surface is mainly made off liquid hydrogen and helium. The giant red spot on the planet is a storm 3 times the size of Earth. Saturn is another planet made essentially of gases. The rings around the plant are not solid but made out of millions of chunks of ice and water. Hey are held in place by the pull of Saturn’s gravity. Uranus is a planet very like Saturn made out of hydrogen and helium. Unlike other planets it lies on its side as it circles the sun. Hershel discovered it in 1781.
