...ouldn’t let her bring a purse. This is because they couldn’t trust that she wouldn’t bring any heroin hidden in her purse. She was so addicted to heroin, she would promise her friends that she wouldn’t have anything on her but little did they know she would have a stash of heroin in her purse. I have also heard stories of kids from North Reading going to some of the best rehab centers in the country and getting kicked out because they couldn’t stick to the system. Many of the kids now addicted to heroin started by snorting an oxycontin thinking it wasn’t a big deal. Next thing they knew they were shooting up, not caring what people thought of them just because it made them feel good. Some kids would consider shooting up and just sitting around all day a good day. At first all they cared about was getting messed up and feeling good. Now many of them do it because they are addicted and can’t stop. Many kids would say there is no such thing as a good party without drugs and alcohol. When someone gets to a party often the first thing out of there mouth is who has alcohol or drugs to sell. Their main goal for the night is to get as messed up as they can. If they wake up in the morning and can’t remember much of the night or how they got home it would be considered a good night. Also at many of these parties kids will mix pills and alcohol without first thinking of the dangerous consequences. I have heard of too many stories of kids driving home drunk and killing themselves along with other innocent people. Throughout high school I can remember times when the gym would be filled with kids crying. This is because we had just had an assembly to let us know that someone from our school had been killed in a drunk driver accident the night before. If kids are going to drink they should have the responsibility not to get behind the wheel and not only put their lives in jeopardy but the lives of other innocent people. Many times on the news you hear stories of kids binge drinking and ending up in a comma which sometimes results in death.
