During drought water has to be conserved as much as possible. Some of the hardships in the poem are different from the others that were explained. For example,"Saving water in lakes and creeks," trying to save water is different from just filling up pools to get away from the heat. "Shorter showers work as well," means you will be just as clean if you take a shorter showers than you take longer ones. "For without water our crops will die, fish won't swim birds won't fly," this means that there will be less food to eat. Not watering the grass just loses grass not food. All these different situations are things that happen in times of drought. There are also some hardships that are more or less serious than others. Some serious hardships are lack of water for the crops, lack of water for fire, the livestock will die because there is no more water .
