Since the weather is getting warmer, middle and high school students tend to dress to attract the wrong attention. Hormones are being released, allowing young boys to say obscene things or even lose concentration during class. People may not realize the effect that clothing has on concentration and cooperation in a class. If a student is wearing clothing that is flashy, revealing, or something that just is made for attention, then students will not get the education they are required to get. Their attention is focused on something else rather than the material being taught. Dress codes also keep students safe by prohibiting children to wear certain colors. Specific colors deal with specific gangs. Schools can not allow students to wear these colors without worrying if other students are in danger. Having a dress code will allow students to participate, cooperate, and steer clear of any dangerous cults that may be lurking on school campuses. Once students are sent into the real world and enter the work force, they are required to wear a certain apparel. In the work force, people can not wear clothing that is to revealing, flashy, or “attention getting”.
