...Dragonboaters go out for training at Barnet Marine Park every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. They practice on the water by using Dragonboats or smaller canoes called outriggers. The other two days are spent in the weight training room at Gleneagle. The team member’s work on toning there muscles in preparation to being strong enough for competitions. Currently there is 18 paid members, however Mancell says that he would like to have more. When he reaches 22 members Mancell has a full team, being able to train them for their June challenges. Though school ends in July, the dragon boating team is persistant until the end of the summer months.
