...it takes a big news story, like that of Winona Ryder to bring about the issue. When you hear that someone shoplifted you automatically think it was either a teenager or a poor person, never in a million year would you think it would be a famous, wealthy actress/ actor. It brought to a lot of people’s attention what a huge problem shoplifting really is. One news story that shocked everyone was the shootings in Columbine High School. Gun control is an issue constantly argued within the country, and it is a shame that it takes something major like this to happen to re-evaluate what is really going on. How could a couple teenagers get their hands on guns and find the materials necessary to make bombs? No one could have ever predicted something like this would ever occur in a high school. When parents send their kids off to school they shouldn’t have to worry about things like guns being in schools.
