If a male works in a group of mostly females, he may be treated with a lack of respect or unequal sense of fairness. A second type of discrimination is that of sexual orientation against homosexuals. The most notably known case of this in America is the Matthew Sheppard case. Gays and lesbians are no less equal than any heterosexual male or female, yet they are treated by many as if they are a completely different species. This type of discrimination is the most influential cause, in my opinion, of school violence and teenage suicide. Thirdly, the issue of race is the most common form of discrimination, mainly between black and white. In earlier years, racism was a major issue.
