...y mind. First of all, both documents addressed the fact that we wanted our own form of government, free from influence of the king and Parliament. Also, both documents said that we the people wanted to be able to form our own laws, not to live under the laws of the king. Another area that was addressed in these two documents was the want for a social change in the society. Both documents agreed on the fact that new laws needed to be imposed. Not laws that hurt the colonial citizens, but laws that would help a young, unsettled country grow into the most powerful nation on earth. Also, the interaction between American citizens and British citizens was made less relevant without the British taxation. Last, but not least, is the area of economics.
