...humans deserve to be praised for good deeds and punished for bad ones. For instance, castrating a rapist will not necessarily stop a rapist from raping again. So imprisonment for life or the death penalty is the proper punishment. In my opinion it is morally wrong to incarcerate someone for murder. A murderer should not get to spend his life in an air-conditioned, possibly cable-equipped prison where he gets free meals, recreation time, and regular visits with friends and family. A murderer should pay for his actions by death, because a loss of freedom does not compare to a loss of life. Most people think the death penalty punishes people for killing.
